A shade of Blood: Book review

Hello book lovers, especially my fantasy book lovers.
I bring you today the second book in the A shade of Vampire series by Bella Forrest, you may remember my older post on the first book called a shade of vampire.  I am a bit behind in updating my blog as I am now on the fourth book so if you would like to hear about the next book please comment below.

When Sofia Claremont was kidnapped by a sunless island. Uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet.  She believed shed forever be a captive of its dark ruler, Derek Novak.
Now after months of surviving an endless night, the morning sun may soon rise again for Sofia.  Something has possessed Derek’s heart and he offers her a gift no human slave has ever been given in the history of his cursed island: escape.
High School, prom, and a chance to move on with her life now await her.
But will she be able to forget the horrors that steal her sleep away at night?
…..Or the feelings that haunt her for that tormented prince of darkness…….

Brief over view:
Once Sofia and Ben escape they try to take their own relationship to the next level, while trying to forget what happened to them at the Shade.

Since Ben’s encounters with Claudia he can no longer feel, he misses all the touches from Sofia and wishes he could experience her like he would have if he didn’t mistreat Sofia on the night of her Birthday.

Sofia battles on a daily basis to forget Derek, the man she truly loves however she has to keep telling herself that he is immortal, how does that relationship last with a mortal like her.

Without Sofia to keep Derek himself, he turns to his dark side, where he has no feelings and he will kill, feed, and take advantage of his slaves (Sofia’s friends at the shade).

Sofia hits the biggest decision of her life.  Ben notices that Sofia is no longer as close to him as she was before the Shade and he finds pictures of Derek under her pillow as well as her sketching of him.  Now Sofia has to choose between the two best men in her life, when she chooses Derek we then see what Ben decides to do with his life to get Sofia back.

I absolutely loved this book like I did with the last, this book did last longer that the first, as well as giving a bigger background on some of the characters which I wanted to read more on.

I love the relationship dilemmas and how a girl of 17 deals with them.  This book was definitely well wrote and Bella deserves huge appreciation, I can imagine every scene in detail she is that good.
You all need to read this book, comment below for more details but I didn’t want to spoil too much for you all as you do need to read from the beginning and imagine the characters yourself.
