One With You by Sylvia Day book review

13435492_1026629170750809_6984548134828128562_n

Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably.

Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one.

We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws … and all the beauty I couldn’t see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us.

But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free … or break us apart.

One With you is the fifth book in the Crossfire series.  In this book I saw how married life was treating Gideon and Eva.  They have both kept their wedding quiet, so that their marriage was more intimate.
Through the book Eva and Gideon begin to tell the people close to them that they are married.  Eva’s mum and dad take it harder.  Her mum wants another wedding, while her dad becomes extremely angry/ disappointed as he wanted to be the one to give her away.
However this did not ruin Eva and Gideon’s mood.

There were so many things I loved about this book, I liked both the main characters.  Throughout the book I was able to read both Eva and Gideon’s side of the story, and I could really understand why they acted the way they did.

This story kept me hooked, I read it in 4 sittings.  I found that there were so many twist and turns that I did not expect to happen.  For instance the story about Monica (Eva’s mum) this developed halfway through the book, but it was so unexpected especially from this genre of books.   I also liked how the book didn’t drag, if there was nothing to say about the characters at a particular time, the story would jump to a day of their lives where there was something to talk about.

“You got the fairy tale right, But Gideon’s the beauty.  I’m the beast” – Eva

My favourite part about this book would be the end, obviously I don’t want to say what happens because that would ruin it all for those of you waiting to read it.
But for those of you who have read the ending, you will understand why this was my favourite. There were so many feelings, and the way the story unfolded was clever and completely unexpected, but I feel it was brought together nicely.

” Kiss me like you love me, Ace” -Eva

This whole book had me laughing at times and crying at other times.  I definitely felt loads of emotions while reading this book because it felt so real.  The story of these two characters is so dramatic, but full of romance it was hard not to keep reading all the way to the end.  Sylvia Day is an amazing author, and always makes each character completely different from one another, whilst giving each character a a background which is compelling.

“Puppy love”

My only downside is that I wish this book would carry on for longer, but I liked how the book ended, it was fast and appropriate.  I feel maybe if it did carry on that there wouldn’t be much more to tell.  Overall I love the book and i think I love it more than the other books in the series, there was so much more to tell in this book, and the story line was beautiful.  There was still the erotica raunchy side to the book but there was also, growth, sadness and family.  I couldn’t have asked for a better book.

Fallen By Lauren Kate: A Book Review

img_0292-1

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

Get ready to fall . . .

Hello all and welcome back to my blog, please do not forget to follow my blog and Facebook page to keep up to date with all my posts.

Today I bring you Fallen by Lauren Kate, a “sexy, fascinating and scary” book.  This was a book recommended to me by someone at work who knew I loved a fantasy book which had a romantic twist.  Basically a young adult book.  These have been my favourite Genre’s since I was little, and I have read many from the collection to sort of know what to expect.

First of all this book is about a young girl called Lucinda Falls who is a 17 year old girl who has been sent to a control school for either committing or not committing a crime that killed a boy she kissed.  This school is known as the Sword and Cross which houses about 80 children/young adults.  On her first day there are the typical first day school nerves, nicknames, bullies and friendships.  The one person however that stands out from the rest is Daniel.  Daniel pays attention to Lucinda “Luce” from afar and always keeps his distance.  Since meeting Daniel Luce starts to have flashbacks and weird dreams which feel very realistic, and confusing, she has this feeling that she knows Daniel from somewhere.
After a couple days and tours of the grounds she is nearly crushed by a headstone in the schools graveyard, however who was there at the time and seemed to save her?….. Daniel.
Luce can’t understand how Daniel saved her, and why she is pulled to him, however she is also attracting the attention from another school boy Cam.
But who will she choose?

My favourite character in this book overall would be Penn.  She is a sweet innocent girl who becomes friends with Luce by knowing how to get to student files, and the main school files, because of her dad and his position at the Sword and Cross.
The reason Penn became my favourite character was because she seems the most realistic, as realistic as a fantasy book can be.  She was kind, shy, but most of all reminded me of myself, which made me relate to her more.  I think other readers will also like her for the way she is around Luce.

The story kept me guessing quite a lot, because it was very confusing at times with twists and turns.  I wonder if this was purposely put into the book because Luce is a teenager.  Nothing about this new school is normal for her.  Luce was a top grade achiever at her school near her parents, and now she is in a school where the education is questionable and, she has no idea what the other people at her school have done to become young offenders.

My favourite part about the book was 53% of the way through , at this point Daniel and Luce are talking about her secrets,  and Cam is showing a larger interest in her, which is causing tension with Daniel.  These were the best chapters as they became tense and mysterious.
However this happened only halfway through the book, before this section I was struggling to keep reading as I felt the story wasn’t progressing.  After about page 240 the story began to pick up and become really interesting, I was hooked and didn’t stop reading it for two nights.

Overall I liked the book by the end and I do want to buy the second in the series.  The ending was fast, tense and full of suspense, and was left leading onto the next book , by leaving you wanting more.  The story had only just begun.
The only big downside to this book was I felt the beginning was very slow.  I struggled to give the book my full attention and kept putting it down over a space of a month, I found the start very repetitive and nothing was happening.   When I read a few more reviews where people said the story picks up in the middle, and becomes interesting, I wasn’t interested. However after the reviews I knew I needed to sit down and really try to keep reading on, and I am glad I did.

Overall I would give this first book a 3 1/2 out of 5, only due to the beginning which didn’t pull me in, but the ending was great and it left me wanting to read more.

My favourite perfumes

Hello and welcome back to my blog, please don’t forget to follow me to keep up to date with my posts.

Today I thought I would show you all, my perfume collection that is beginning to grow.  Now some of these perfumes were given to me and a few I bought myself from Amazon, at a great price.  Now I’m not always into the same sort of scents, depending on my mood, depends on whether I want a darker scented perfume or a flowery Spring/summer scent, I like to have a diverse range.

This is the Beyoncé Heat.  I purchased this on Amazon for just under £10 I think.  It has a darker musky scent than my other perfumes.  The bottle is tinted but elegant and sexy, which is what I believe Beyoncé was going for when she created this scent.

This bottle is the Katy Perry perfume in the scent Meow.  Again this is another perfume I bought off Amazon for a deal, again under £10 which is a bargain.  This has a light flowery scent to it.  I love to wear this fragrance in the day for a subtle scent.  The other perfume she has made was purr, it’s in the same sort of bottle but purple which is a little stronger. I love the shape of the bottle which I believe is dedicated to the nick name she gives her fans. I am also a at lover so I think this bottle is super cute.

Calvin Klein Beauty, this was given to me by my god mum.  It has a lovely scent for the day and evening, but is more of an adult scent compared to the other two I have mentioned.  It is very strong and you only need a small amount.  It has lasted me ages.  I am not sure on the price I think it may be above £50 as its a rather large bottle.

Britney Spears Midnight.  I love her range of perfumes my other two favourites are Fantasy and Rocker. They all smell different which is great as some brands always have familiar scents.  This again was quite cheap off Amazon about £18 for this size, which has lasted me a long time.  The scent is hard to explain but it’s mild, I do spray a lot of it on me during the day and other compliment me about it. Rocker however may be my favourite.  There are many more I have yet to smell.

Calvin Klein in2 u. This was given to me by my god mum again and it’s a gorgeous smell.  I also love it because this is my mums favourite.  It’s a light perfume but lasts all day long  this is about £35 on Amazon, not sure about the shops.
I hope you all liked the little collection I have,  please follow my Instagram @Hannahbunz to see more of these.  Leave comments below telling me your favourite brands of perfume.
