Review

Book downloaded via Netgalley for an honest review –

I was just scanning around Netgalley and came across this book, thought it looked and sounded like my sort of book to read so downloaded it. This is the first time I have read anything by Belinda Wright.
I will admit the book hasn’t had the best ratings however there are not that many reviews given, so I don’t feel it is the best base to be judging.

My first impression of the cover was professional looking. As it is a romance it was nice to see that there wasn’t a couple on the front but instead a professional suit image…. fitting for the title “The Exectutive”.

When it comes to bachelors do not believe everything said in the news…. that stands true in this book.
The book is extremely fast paced, they meet and sleep together all in the same day/night. Have to admit that was very fast and I think it prevented a build up for me. Most Romance/Erotica I have read likes to build a sexual tension between both the main characters. This book lacked that tension.

Chantelle had a rough start to her teenage years. Chantelle’s parents died in a car accident when she was 11, she then has no money but shows determination in her career pursuing finance, therefor moves to the UK. Whilst in the UK she shares a house with a landlord who becomes more of a peeping tom (Neil), but what else can she do, money is tight. Chantelle then faces the end of her intern ship with no plan forward.

Granger a typical playboy/bachelor, doesn’t want the commitment and becomes a workaholic. Until he meets Chantelle.
I found the speed in which they got together extremely fast, and I don’t believe a man can change his mind in a couple days about his way of life. However I found myself reading this book in a couple hours.

The ending was too fast for me, I wish the back story for Granger was used throughout the book rather than one chapter.

Overall I did enjoy this book, it kept me engaged throughout and willing me to read more. I will always rate a book well if it can keep me engrossed throughout. Definitely a short, light hearted romance.
