Us ladies are a little tricky to buy for. However Craig always knows the perfect gift to get me each year, so perhaps he should be writing this post. Last year he bought me straighteners and a hair dryer because I was moaning all year that I needed them (Just proves he listens to me sometimes haha). Gifts all depend on what lady you’re buying them for. I am going to base this post on sisters, wife, mum, nan.
I find with my mum in particular and Craig’s that they both prefer more sentimental gifts. The same for both my nan’s. This can be a:
- Necklace with your birthstone and maybe include your siblings.
- Jewellery box engraved.
- Charm for a bracelet.
- Or depending on their likes, you could create a cute gift basket full of their favourite things. (This shows effort and again very personal).
Many sites such as Amazon include a lot of personalised gifts, I have previously bought my mum a necklace with mine and my sisters name on. A Jewellery box the year before engraved. She has loved every single one because it was personal.
Again something sentimental always works. Or just something you know she really wants for example:
- Playing cards with 52 reasons why you love her.
- Photo album with added personal extras, like small paragraphs of how you felt in each picture. Or funny moments together.
- Another gift basket full of her favourite things, can also be funny or create a night in box, giving you two some much needed time together.
- If you know her favourite makeup brand go and ask the women who work their for a makeup palette or their best selling product. This shows more thought than a gift card. (Craig did this for me one year and I loved that he took the effort to go in to town to look).
Now sisters I find more tricky. I always struggle with mine but I just need to remind myself what does she really like. For my sister she is a huge fan of Harry potter (Used to be Twilight). So for her I can buy anything Harry potter and she would love it. We normally set a spending limit on each other. For Craig’s sister she is a huge fan of Doctor Who, so last Christmas I bought her a pair of Tardis earrings and a pair of sonic screwdriver earrings. This can all depend on the age.
- Charm bracelet with one charm. Or buy one charm if she already has one.
- Lush bath bomb set, they always do a Christmas gift set.
- Now for your sister a Gift card is great.

The product sent to me to review is the Bio Alga natural smoothing night cream with Q10.
The site states that the cream is :A strong concentrate of active substances. Contains nourishing complex of algae and Coenzyme Q 10 + Ralong with supporting vitamins C and E. Combats free radicals, supplies cells with oxygen, removes toxins, deeply and intensely moisturises and delays skin aging process. The cream activates protective mechanisms, strengthens elastin and collagen fibers. The skin regains its smoothness, elasticity and a young, healthy look. Existing wrinkles are shallowed and the process of creating new ones is delayed. Intense, nourishing night cream for all skin types.
First of all this is a very good sized pot to be sent to review. Thank you to the company. They were very fast with postage and sent me two small sample sachets as well. On their business card they state free samples for every purchase, that’s a bargain.
Anyway, I tried this Friday and Saturday night. My skin is combination, very dry on the cheeks and chin but oily in the T zone. Normally when I wake up in the morning my skin looks a little rough…..Being a new mum sleep is rare haha, and with this cold weather coming in I am breaking out in spots and looking dry.
On application I found the cream cooling and refreshing, it did leave my skin feeling tacky but that’s normal, I find this happens with night creams.
In the morning I found my skin to feel and look hydrated, and definitely smoother to the eye. I also found the cream helped with my dark circles (Bonus). I am going to keep using this product, but I am very happy with it so far, I normally find it hard to get a cream that fully hydrates my skin so well.
The price for this is very reasonable. The site also offers free delivery over £25.
Fantastic price and quality for organic and natural products.

Welcome to the fairy tale …
Olivia Kennedy was living the life she had always dreamed of. She had a lovely home in California that she shared with her adoring and successful husband and their two-year-old son. She couldn’t be happier, until the night fate intervened and crushed her fairy tale. A widow for over three years now, she is finding it hard to stay in the town where she has no husband, no job, no family, and no future. When an opportunity opens up, she realizes she must let go of fairy tales and face her reality.
Welcome to Clover, Alabama …
Starting over in the town she swore she would never return to, Olivia and her son Mason become Clover’s latest residents. As the new librarian, she hopes she can keep busy to fill the void of losing her husband, while raising her son closer to her supportive family. She is touched by how the town she once detested, now welcomes her into their loving arms and accepts her and Mason as their own. Things are looking up for them, especially when a hero returns home.
Welcome to falling in love …
Olivia can’t deny her attraction to Clover’s hometown hero, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Sullivan. The Air Force pilot is not only handsome, but his sense of excitement and adventure sparks something in her that she had never felt before. She is also touched by the quick bond that has formed between Tom and Mason. Tom has made it clear to her that she is in his target range and nothing would make him happier than having both of them in his life. Olivia, however, is unsure about taking risks. It is her duty to protect her son, as well as guard her own heart. Does she have the courage to love again and allow the hometown hero to show her that her fairy tale is far from over?

All my life I’d been running, and I was the worst kind of runner. The kind that pretended they were stronger than others, the kind that looked down on people just to make their own life more bearable. It wasn’t necessarily that I was a bad person, far from it. I knew I needed to change but couldn’t. Turns out, my pride was a deadly thing…
Eighteen year old Veronica Day has just escaped her own personal hell; Weston Academy for girls, one of New York’s most prestigious boarding schools.
Only, it didn’t come with the relief she’d hoped for.
A year later and she is still grappling with an unexpected and devastating tragedy…
Deciding to travel to Kill Devil Hills with her grandmother for their annual summer vacation, Veronica meets a man that turns her world upside down.
Too old for her and ruggedly handsome, she is wary of the mysterious Devlin Monroe.
His pursuit is more like obsession than a normal courtship.
Too “tall dark and handsome”…and too interested.
Too good to be true?
Can she find a way to move on with her life, or will the answers she so desperately needs destroy what little she has left?
Best week, for reading, scheduling posts and overall a good week. I posted a mixture of books, review and mum life. Lets check out what happened….

Baby Christmas gifts ages 0-6 Months under £20
Haha reliving my past…… probably shouldn’t let my 4 month old hear it but he loves it. Oops.
Clayne had his check up with his Renal consultant for his kidneys. Clayne is growing and developing amazingly and the doctor was impressed. Only concern now is he is developing kidney disease. The future is unknown with how bad his kidneys could get but at the moment we just need to keep checking. He is such a strong little boy, and so happy. Watching him giggle and smile this week just makes me so happy.
Eek I finally received this book last Sunday and read it in a day. It was amazing. But now I must get back to trying to read Torment……. Lost enthusiasm.

Trying to add more mum blog posts. So today I thought I would share my thoughts on our Mothercare Orb pram we bought in December 2017. Still on sale, currently £275 down from £450
We have been using this pram for 5 months now and feel we have a good idea on our thoughts for this pram.
The pram comes in three colours, Berry, Noir and Teal. Ours is the colour featured above.
The features included are the pram can turn in a 360 circle. To do this twist the centre of the pram handle and lift it up. This enable you to have your child facing you or front facing. This we have loved, and have used a lot, mainly when in eating areas and the pram needs to be at a certain angle.
This is an all in one pram. It transfers from a Moses setting right up into a toddler setting (3 settings in total). Easy to use the buckles to change to each setting. Fantastic for us as we don’t have much storage and the thought of having 3 separate pram parts drove me crazy.
Here is Clayne loving his pram, with the cosy toes setting in place. I love the cosy toes, definitely keeps my boy so warm. The lining is so soft, and the fact it is a head to toe cosy toes is even better. The toy I bought myself.
to lay my son down in the pram from the sitting position is easy, there is a small handle behind the head rest which if I pull I can guide the whole seat setting backwards. Stopping me from waking my son by fiddling with buckles etc.
The break system is easy to use. One pedal next to the back right wheel, push down once to lock, push down again to release. As easy as that. There are two breaks on the front two wheels but I don’t feel the need to use them, unless on a steep hill.
The only thing I have disliked about this pram is the basket underneath. Due to the pram rotating the mechanism protrudes into the basket therefore preventing a lot of storage space being used. I wish the basket was bigger and easier to access.
However overall I love this pram. No fiddly settings, takes up little room and folds up well. We got the all terrain model which for walks is fantastic because the grip on the wheels is great.
