Hello my lovely beauty and book followers. AGAIN I have been gone for over a week. Sometimes life just gets in the way.
As many of you know that follow me I am a full time nurse, and that includes a variety of shifts as my job is 24/7. This is not the first time I have posted about this.
This week I have been on 4 night shifts which were busier than I planned, therefore I did miss breaks so I was not able to read in free time to get a review up and ready for you today.
Thursdays night shift was BAD, oh my goodness, by Friday morning I was so tired, exhausted I just wanted my bed. Since then I have not been able to switch my body clock back as I do have another night shift tomorrow…. Boo, then back onto 3 days.
But I can assure you I am going to be reading this week.
I plan to finish this book this week, I am half way through and it is very good. I am definitely going to get back into reviewing, I was doing so well for a month haha. Ooops.

About the Author:
C.D. Taylor began writing as an item to check off her bucket list. She resides in the southernmost part of Illinois, right on the mighty Mississippi river. She enjoys the quiet country life with her husband, son and the many farm animals that make up the rest of the family. C.D. decided that farm life was just a little too mundane, so she started writing erotica to spice things up, so far so good. C.D. entered cosmetology school right out of High School and practiced the art of hair styling for 12 years. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found sitting around a table making people laugh. She has always wanted to be a standup comic. She loves pulling practical jokes, dresses up in a costume every Halloween and believes that dancing is the key to a happy life (even if you aren’t a good dancer). She believes that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously, we will never get out alive anyway. More than anything, C.D. is a kid at heart, she doesn’t believe in bedtimes, eating everything on her plate, or having ice cream only for dessert. Her favorite quote is by Dr. Seuss…”Why fit in, when you were born to stand out.”
Gabriella Woods eventually wants it all—love, passion, marriage, a family. With the sale of the club, she feels closer to Darion Milano, and believes his dark sexual desires are behind him. A reunion at The Black Door to celebrate the opening awakens the past. Gabi and Darion remember where and how they fell in love. Gabi is pleased to see Darion in touch with his old friends, in particular Gina. Until their confession changes everything. The news shatters Gabi’s world. Can she and Darion get through it? Will the link to his past sway him from a life he now leads, to a life he once led?
I Loved this book. I didn’t read the first two books in the trilogy but I don’t feel you will need to either, however it may help you to understand the characters further.
The first chapter was very good and captivating, really draws the reader into the book. S.Valentine throws the reader 2 months ahead into the life of Darion Milano and Gabriella Woods where Darion has given up the Black door, and is attending the re opening under new management with Gabriella.
However the reunion with all the staff does not go as planned, an old friend of Darion’s, Gina, breaks down in tears and asks Darion if he has told Gabi their secret ( Their confession). The chapter ends with Darion turning to Gabi and he said “I’m sorry”……… What is he sorry for?
And then the second chapter takes you back 2 months before the BIG secret. I just loved that the plot was at the beginning of the book, because it made me as a reader want to read on to find out the big secret. This book was filled with so much sexual tension, romance and erotica.
He is the typical sexy man, has his own wealth, and enjoyed the sexual fantasies he could live while owning and working in The Black Door, however he decides to leave that behind to be with Gabi. However there is nothing easy about their relationship. He has a BIG secret ( His Confession) that he has not told Gabi, will it break them up.
I enjoyed getting to understand Darion more, however his character uses sex a lot to disguise his true feelings, whilst battling with commitment issues. I enjoyed reading about Darion, and how he started to grow up and become a man. He really does have a romantic heart hidden under his sexually dark personality.
Poor Gabi, I could relate to her throughout the book. She is a lover of books, and works for a publishing company. All she dreams about is the “perfect” romantic relationship, based upon her well loved book genres. Of course nothing is perfect in a real life relationship compared to fiction. After all a fictional character does not always come with “Baggage” like Darion. But then how can she deny a man who makes her weak at the knees by just smiling at her.
Gabi presents herself in designer shoes, perfect hair and makeup, whilst struggling to keep a man she loves dearly in a so called “normal” relationship. However nothing is boring in the bedroom when it comes to these two characters. After all, all Gabi wants to do is to get married and have children with this gorgeous man she has fallen so deeply in love with.
I give this book a solid 5 stars, I was hooked from the very beginning. The author has thought this book out so well. I applaud S.Valentine, makes me wish I knew about the series sooner. You will all love it I promise.
I want to thank Lifestyle and Literature for sharing this book to me.

Twilight Saga box set from my sister.
I already have this set, and had it since 2005 before the film even came out, however they have become bad damaged since I shared them around over the years. Now they look so pretty again. Making my book shelf look gorgeous. And they are the original covers not the film covers.
Here is my Fitbit charge 2 in purple that my best friend bought me, I feel so blessed to have such a good friend. We both plan to join the gym this year and get our acts together haha. This is an amazing tracker, if you want to see more about it comment below, and I will be happy to do that for you.
From Craig’s family they bought us this awesome knife set for our kitchen. It is so quirky and really livens up the kitchen, bringing in some personality. Craig thinks they are amazing quality.
My mum and dad bought me quite a collection of items so I have split them through different photos. The two note books above: the fox is for me to organise my blog posts better and get this blog more active this year. And the Owl notebook is for me to use at work for my nursing as I always forget things unless I write them down.
This is the box of goodies that my mum and dad bought me. Inside there was: Creams, hand washes, candles lot and lots of Yankee candles, bath bombs, face wipes, notebooks, jewellery, a large toy owl, notebooks.
Here are the 3 items of jewellery that was in my goodie box. one silver owl necklace, owl broach and owl earrings with my birthstone amethyst. Can you tell I love owls.
My friends bought me this Yankee candle, scent is Christmas baking. It is so yummy to smell. And I love candles as well as owls haha.
Here is the adorable owl cuddly toy my mum bought me. You’re never too old for cute toys. She still see’s me as her baby.
Due to the amount of candles my mum bought me I had to buy a large jar to store them. I cannot wait to start burning them throughout the year, they all smell so good.

My god mother who I see as my second mum had previously bought us a dishwasher for our new place back in November, so as a token present she bought us this lovely Rose plant, which I can hopefully put out in the spring in my new garden. I also love the vase.
I also had a caramel Latte pack bought for my by my sister in law, which I have already packed away. In the set I had a large latte glass, stencil for my topping, and the caramel to add to the coffee. I love my Costa caramel latte from my Tassimo machine.
The rest of my family gave myself and Craig money so we can buy what ever we want.
Craig and I bought ourselves a early Christmas present in September, and bought ourselves a 49″ TV from Sony as our old TV was 10 years old and was beginning to give up.
I hope you all liked the insight into my Christmas, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New year. Tell me what you got in the comments below, and don’t forget you can also talk to me on Twitter and Facebook.

I gave you all a sneak peak into this palette a little while ago. Today I wanted to give you MY review of this product. Lets get started.
I have been behind buying this but Kat Von D makeup has only become available in the UK recently. For those of you in the UK you can buy her makeup from Debenhams.
Normally retails at £36 but I bought mine on sale for £32.
This ‘Shade and Light’ face contour collection is a game changer for makeup mavericks everywhere. Inspired by an artist’s palette, Kat has created six matte shades that look truly stunning on everyone. The contour and highlight pairs are arranged by undertone, so you get neutral, warm and cool shades. Use the deeper contour shades to add natural shadow and depth to your face, then accentuate your best angles with the brighter highlight shades.
Kat Von D shade and light contour
First of all the packaging.
I was in love with Kat’s own take on her packing. The main box it was contained in was adorable, when I opened the end inside there were stars just like her tattoo she has on the side of her face.
Inside included a card which I have featured above, the card was double sided, explaining the palette on one side while the other side showed places that the powders can be applied to, I think this is fantastic for those of you who don’t watch YouTube videos or any other tutorials, and just need a little insight.
The main palette itself is quite weighty and sleek. I like how simple and elegant the front looks, yet it’s bold.
On the inside the sleek design carries on, and the design around the mirror is simple but elegant. The mirror is very large and is very weighty. You will need to lean the palette against something if you want it to stand up, just due to the mirror being quite heavy.
Lets get onto the inside of the palette and the shades.
As I have said before this palette is suitable for all skin tones, and is perfect to travel with if your skin tone changes like mine throughout the year because of the weather.
The shades included:
Top highlight shades: Lucid, Lyric and Levitation
Contour shade: Sombre, Shadowplay and Subconscious.
My favourite light shade is Lucid and my favourite Shade for contouring is Shadowplay.
The shades are gorgeous, super blendable. I tend to always apply way to much contour to the hollow of my cheeks, and struggle to make it look wearable. With these shades I found they are highly pigmented, so when I applied them the first time I made the same mistake as usual, however I thought I might as well try blending and see if I can make it work, and it was easy. The contour didn’t need much work and it blended seamlessly creating a lovely natural shadow. I was impressed from the first try.
I decided to use this palette all week at work to see if anyone would notice, and I was blown away with the amount of reactions I received. A lot of my colleagues noticed something was different and said I looked slimmer in the face. Others who know I wear makeup were asking me what I was using to contour.
I am definitely recommending this palette to everyone who wants to start out.
I want to buy more from this brand, comment below what you like most by Kat VonD Beauty.

Helllllo readers, today’s post is a little different because I’m not doing a book tag but instead I wanted to talk about my most recent reading-slump. Before I get into it I just wanted to make a note that despite the slump I’ve still being reading and reviewing as you will have probably seen – […]
This is my fourth week at my first job as a nurse and my 2nd week where I am working alone. It has been a struggle not going to lie, I’m tired, stressed and emotional at times. No one said it was going to be easy but the transition from student nurse to staff nurse is difficult. As soon as I swapped into my blue uniform , doctors spoke to me, people actually asked me more questions, and I felt people and patients really listened to my opinions and health advice. I’m not saying that anyone was being mean to me before, but it proves that a different look makes people view you differently.
My first week I did have a few tears on a couple shifts but that’s normal, I don’t want any future students reading this and freaking out. It is just hard transitioning knowing that there isn’t a mentor following my every move…..checking all details and ensuring I have enough information. I am now on my own, obviously I can ask other nurses but these patients I have, they are mine, I am caring for them, they are my priority right now, if they are ill I need to know that and act upon it. It’s a big responsibility however I still love being a nurse 😊. I may be tired, worn out and a bit sore from being on my feet all day, but it’s worth it knowing you have touched someone’s life and their families and made them feel better, and to let them know they are not alone and that someone cares and will make their time in hospital comfortable but also making sure that the patient has everything they need to go home safely.
