Because I Love you – Book Review.

Two years ago, he took my innocence and ran,
Luckily for me, he’s a slow runner.
He doesn’t know that he gave me the most beautiful gift in the world – my son.
I’m going to give him a gift too – revenge!
And if he’s thinking he can get me and my son…
Well, he can go take a walk!

She’s my best friend’s little sister.
I should never have touched her.
But I did.
She was hot. She was fun. She was begging me for it.
So I gave it to her… all night long.
I told her I loved her. I promised her the moon and stars.
I meant every word.
Then I vanished. I couldn’t tell her why. I still can’t.
We haven’t talked since.
But I saw her yesterday. She’s still hot enough to stop traffic,
Even with a kid.
She’s got secrets, but so do I.
I know she still wants me, but she’s not begging this time.
This time she wants me to beg.
But I don’t beg. I take.
And I’m taking Jessi. Secrets and all.

My Review –

This book took me a while to get my head into. I loved the story line, curvy Jessi making a successful career in the modelling industry ( very positive image to put out), and Chris a choreographer, very different to the normal suited business man I read in Romance genre’s.

I loved the empowerment by using a curvy woman for the main character, this is rare I find in the Romance/Erotic genre.
The cover however niggled me. The story brings you a confident curvy mum taking over the modelling industry, yet the cover shows a “normal” sized woman. I wish the author secured a curvy woman to empower other women, and show some diverse covers out there.

Because I love you was definitely steamy, imaginative and juicy. Amy Brent has captured a dramatic, romantic, very saucy novel in one. Once I was about 30% of the way through I was hooked. The revenge plot and karma was well done throughout. The story line never felt rushed and Amy definitely kept me wanting to find out more about Chris.
Jessi was an open book to the reader, but Chris was mysterious not only to me but to the main character Jessi……. Why would he leave her when they were so in love.

The sex scenes are very descriptive and always different. These two characters are on fire consistently throughout.

I became Like Jessi’s friend Megan in the end, I was getting so frustrated that this man he obviously loved didn’t yet know the truth. Proof the author did well.

This was better than a light hearted romance, the complicated relationship made the couples dynamic more realistic. I like some drama in my books and this his the nail on the head.
A must read for all you Romance lovers out there.

I gave this book 4/5 on Goodreads, mainly because I found myself struggling to get into it from the first page. But once I was into the main part of the story I was hooked. I will be looking into more of Amy Brent’s books in the future.

My Least Favourite Books Of 2018

Hello all and Happy New year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy start to the year.
I have set a target to read 30 books this year, and to get my blog to 1,000 followers….. I currently have 584. I am so keen to get this blog going this year and want to get a post up 5 days a week.

I only managed to read 16/20 books this year but it has been a manic year. So lets show you all my 3 least favourite books of 2018….

Sorry folks if this was a favourite of you. This just wasn’t for me, it felt very slow paced. I gave it a good go but I had to put it down. Check out my full review here – https://hannahsbeautifulfantasy.blog/2018/01/20/close-to-home-by-cara-hunter-book-review/

I gave this book 2/5 stars.

I completed this book with a love hate relationship. The book started off strong and then went down hill, I was expecting more from the story line, and a little more drama. Instead I found a selfish woman who wanted it all and had two amazing men she was dragging along.

Gave 3/5 stars.

Another book I had high hopes for. I really liked the change in time from when they were younger to now, however I felt each chapter just repeated itself just in a different time zone….. Could have been so much better.

Reader Problems – Book Tag

Hey, lets have a little post Christmas fun. I have been enjoying a couple days with the family, such an amazing time watching my son and nephew enjoy their first Christmas, and they shared it together.
Anyway I wanted to do a fun post to get back into the swing and came across this book tag on Way Too Fantasy.   Lets get into it.

1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

I do find it hard. Not going to lie I do judge the book cover as well as seeing what mood I am in.
My mood can fluctuate, but tends to drift towards Fantasy/Romance, as well as a bit of erotica….. No secret that I review this genre.

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

I give myself a couple weeks to have a break and read something that has caught my attention. Depending on my thoughts after depends on whether I go back. But I do think halfway is a good place to get to before deciding on yes/no.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

I am behind right now actually, 4 books behind.
I like the challenges but find if I force myself to read then I am setting myself up to not enjoy myself. Reading is a hobby and for fun, I don’t ever want to feel like it is a chore.

4. The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

I can’t lol. This is one thing that I really struggle with, and will admit it drives me crazy. I will have to buy the book with the correct matching cover to feel settled. Weird I know.

However a mixture of paperback and hardbacks do not bother me at all.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I love the bookish community and we all share our thoughts, they’re welcomed and I may bond with someone who agrees with me.

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

I have to stop. This has happened rarely, but I would rather experience the book at home and then let my emotions run wild.

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

I have reread books I love, but I also keep a notebook for my reviews mainly but I will scan over my notes and it jogs my memory.

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?

Oh wow this is a hard one. I do not mind lending them out, however if they get ruined or slightly damaged I freak out internally. My sister did this once, she felt so bad because she knows my books are my pride possession that I have on view for everyone that visits, she actually bought me a new set.

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

I usually find some good time off helps me a lot. I have had a month off from reading before. I will pass the time reading reviews, checking out book posts and then I am happy to read again if something spikes my interest.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

Oh Wow, I like to be realistic with how many I think I can read. However if it is a series I will try to buy it all.
Of course funds depending.

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

Oh wow this is mean. I feel so mean leaving them sitting there looking at me.
It depends, from the previous questions it depends on book slumps, enjoying the books or general life. However if I am addicted to the series I can read it in a week.

I won’t be tagging anyone, but please feel free to create your own post 🙂 and tag me in it so I can check out your answers. X
