Book Review: Running into Love

Running into love.pngFawn Reed has kissed one too many toads and has finally decided that Prince Charming doesn’t exist. After countless mishaps, mistakes, and unmitigated disasters on the dating scene, she’s decided to give up and move on with her life…solo.

Everything changes, however, after Fawn runs into Levi Fremont, a homicide detective new to New York City.

Dedication to the job has rendered Levi’s love life nonexistent—until he moves in next door to the free-spirited Fawn. After a series of comedic run-ins push them together, will they finally give in to the inevitable and realize—maybe—they are perfect for each other?

I came across this little book when having a look around on Goodreads.  I loved the synopsis, the cover and wanted some light hearted romance.

I am so happy I was approved to read an advanced readers copy of this book.  I absolutely loved it.  In fact if Levi was real I would run into him everyday (wink wink).

This book was a beautiful romance from beginning to end.  The two characters are obviously in love after reading a couple chapters.  I loved reading about them both getting over their stubbornness of not saying  I LOVE YOU, and finally giving into the 3 big words they were both thinking.

Fawn was so funny,  she is a cute, clumsy, shy school teacher who has met a very confident NYPD detective, who dotes on her, and her dog Muffin.
Levi is definitely a very sexy alpha male.  I mean wow, the sex scenes were steamy.  I wouldn’t put this in the genre Erotica, I would definitely recommend this book for a romance, but the sex was still steamy.

I loved both of these characters, their chemistry, their families, and I liked the small background investigation that ties them together.
I definitely recommend this book to you all, there are no love triangles, issues that get in the way of each of them.  Just love.

Like I have said to my Fiancé it was Romantical.
5 stars for this story.

Book Review: Black Bullet by L.D.Rose

Black Bullet book 2Fledgling vampire Jonathan Kerr has just met his match.

Not even his past life as a former Marine and FBI agent could prepare him for the battle against the monster inside him, struggling to take hold. After an old nemesis of the Senary surfaces in Brooklyn, unleashing chaos and terror in the battered borough, Jon sets out to take him down. Instead, he ends up with far more than he bargained for when he clashes with the beautiful half-vampire hybrid, Lawan Knight.

After escaping near death and suffering unspeakable horror at the hands of vampires, Lawan trusts no one, regardless of species. In between bouts of drunken stupor, her only goal is to exterminate all those who’ve wronged her, including every member of Jon’s vampire bloodline. But Jon’s soulful eyes and quick smile crawls under her skin, transforming her black and white world into a hazy shade of gray.

As the days rapidly grow darker, Jon and Lawan turn to one another, but their inner demons threaten to tear them apart. The only way either of them will survive is if they overcome their greatest fear–

Love.

REVIEW

This book was just as good as the first book Releasing the demons, if not better.  L.D.Rose always left me wanting more, her writing style draws you in and keeps you constantly guessing.
I was very impressed with the amount of knowledge and accurate facts that L.D.Rose put into these two books, the medical and scientific parts were spot on, which obviously appealed to the nurse side of me.  I feel I have a new series addiction, which always happens to me when I read fantasy books.

The book follows on from Releasing the demons.  Instead of following Blaze and Valerie, this book explores Jon and Lawan’s journey.  Lawan is a new character and was not featured in the first book, so to me she was a complete mystery which compelled me to read on.

Jon is an ex marine, lieutenant  who supposedly died November 3rd 2016 and buried amongst other fallen soldiers.  Jon was bitten before he died by Taylon (his sire from the vampire Temhota gang),  and is now a vampire.   However Jon is not like every other vampire.  he managed to keep a part of his human self, but his sire is constantly running around inside his mind.
Jon is on a daily battle to hunt down Taylon’s brother Regin and kill him, due to what happened to him, on this journey he meets Lawan, a hybrid with a few skills of her own, that keeps Jon on his toes.

Lawan is a strong independent 28 year old woman who has also been marked by the Temhota, living in a church with her cat for company.  Lawan is a hybrid created in the same place Blaze and his friends were, in the Releasing The Demons, however not many female hybrids survived, due to being killed,  so the fact she is still alive after 15 years is intriguing to the other men.
Lawan is a vulnerable woman, suffering with what I would call PTSD.  However she is strong, inquisitive and a hero.  She is definitely not a damsel in distress, and acts more as a role model.

The relationship between Jon and Lawan was interesting.  I enjoyed reading about their skills, relationships, survival and trust.

The whole story kept me wanting more, I am extremely excited to read the third book in the Senary series later this year.
This book will keep any reader engaged.  I found this story thrilling, steamy and highly entertaining.  The erotica was kept very minimal like the last, and the story rather focused on the characters themselves and the issue at hand.

If you love romance, action, fantasy and a little erotica then this is the book for you, I enjoyed getting lost in the world of vampires in New york and the threats facing not only the humans but the hybrids.

In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially not a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot – should not – be walking the streets. This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves…

Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.

Books for me to read.

Image Hello to all my book followers 🙂 this post is for you today.
I know I have not read in a while but I have been super hectic and sitting down to read does not seem like it is going to happen at the moment so bare with me.
Here is a stack of the books I have yet to read an I am super excited all these apart from the bottom ones are books that twitter, instagram followers and my blog followers have recommended to me:

A touch of Crimson-A Renegade Angels Novel (Sylvia Day- Author of the Crossfire series).
A hunger so wild- A Renegade Angels Novel (Sylvia Day).
Angels Flight- Guild Hunter series ( Nalini Singh).
A shade of vampire (Bella Forrest).
A shade of blood (Bella Forrest).
Revealed- A House of Night novel (P.CC & Kristen Cast).

I am looking forward to read all these books, as you may be able to tell these are all supernatural/paranormal books with romance which is my favourite to read.  The reason they are my favourite is because I can get lost into a whole different world and read about problems that don’t exist.

Once I have completed the book Revealed I will do another review as I am only on page 67 as I only had an hour to read it.

Hope you all liked this and if you have read these books leave comments below and I will include them in my reviews, just NO SPOILERS. Lol don’t ruin them for me.

Speak soon (Don’t forget to follow me).

Entwined with you: A Crossfire Novel by Sylvia Day

Entwined with you.
Entwined with you.

Hello everyone 🙂 hope you love a good book because this is the one for you!

First I will say that this is an erotic book and is not suggested to younger readers okay :p we do not want to scar them for ever haha.  Anyway this book is absolutely amazing.
I only paid about £1.99 for this book on my Kindle, books are a lot cheaper on there than buying paper backs.  Unfortunately my Kindle is the old kindle WiFi version and does not come in colour which can be a pain however when you read the book it does not need to be in colour, hopefully I can buy a brand new kindle this year we will see.
Below I will show you a small snippet from the first chapter of the book then I will give you some more information.

” Gideon Cross was an impossibly gorgeous man, so beautiful that people stopped and stared when he walked by.  I’d once thought of him as a sex god, and his frequent – and enthusiastic – displays of prowess constantly proved me right, but I also knew he was all too human.  Like me, he’d been broken.  The odds were against our making it.  My chest expanded on a deep breath, my body responding to the proximity of his.  Even though he stood several feet away, I could feel the heady attraction, the magnetic pull of being near the other half of my soul.  It’d been that way with us from the very first meeting. “

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down and would have finished it sooner if life didn’t get in the way lol.
I would recommend this book to you all of course you would have to read the first two books however though 🙂 but it is definitely worth the buy.
This book was give 4 and a half stars on Goodreads:

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts, and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires…

From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.

No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession…

Do not forget to follow me and I hope to talk to you all soon
I hope you go and buy the book
and if you do do not forget to tell me how it was for you 🙂
