Vampire. Warrior. Legend. Lover.
Discover a secret, sensual world of winged vampire warriors and the women they crave—in an epic battle between unearthly longing and immortal love…
On The Wings Of Desire
Alison Wells is no ordinary woman. Born with supernatural powers, she can never make love to a man without putting him in grave danger. But when her special vision reveals a glorious muscled man soaring overhead on mighty wings, she feels an overwhelming attraction she cannot resist—even as he tells her: “I have come for you. Your blood belongs to me.”
In The Heat Of Passion
Kerrick is a vampire and a warrior who has fought his hunger for a woman’s love for the past two hundred years. As a Guardian of Ascension, he is sworn to protect Alison from the death vamp armies who crave her blood and her power. But Kerrick has cravings of his own—a forbidden longing to open his heart and veins to Alison. To share his blood…satisfy his thirst…and seal their fates forever.
Haven’t been able to share this until I learnt how to print screen (face palm). Useless with technology, anyway this is my year in books from what Goodreads have made…… I apologise if the pictures are small but this is the best I could do.
What blood contaminates, only blood can cleanse. The last city on Earth is contaminated. Now blood is the only thing that can wash it clean.Julia is trapped inside the Blue as the Nobles fight over the few humans who are still alive. When the dust settles and she finds herself shackled to a new master, she knows she must escape or die.Meanwhile, Cam has gathered a handful of comrades and is on his way into the Red to rescue his queen. But not all of his friends can be trusted, and not all of them will make it back alive. The Silver Queen is the second book in Josie Jaffrey’s Sovereign trilogy, set in a dystopian Europe where vampiric Nobles control the last remnants of the human race.
I was very excited to jump into this book after Gilded King, especially after reading that Emmy and Sol were back….. YES! Josie keeps to the original characters of this series, Lucas, Julia, Cam and Felix. However the character perspectives are Julia and Cam. I asked Josie on Twitter when will we be meeting these characters again, she has informed me February 2019, just in time for my Birthday. I did ask if Emmy and Sol will be the point of views, but we will continue to see this story from Julia and Cam’s view. The ending though (oh my god it’s cliffhanger material).
What I liked about this book was the continuity, drama and growth. Cam and Julia are back, and facing more drama and destruction than ever before. The flip between each character in each chapter is fluid. I enjoyed Julia’s journey more in this book, she to hell and back, as a result became a fierce independent woman.
The ending was very well done, throughout the book we’re left guessing why Emmy is so reserved, secretive. When Sol and Emmy finally meet….. well you have to read to see it’s an OH MY GOODNESS moment. This is why I am super excited for the next instalment. The name I do not know as Josie is still writing.
The book didn’t really leave me with any feelings, apart from suspense, this book mainly focuses on their journey’s rather than relationships. Can they save the Blue, and return their Queen back to their King.
What I disliked – I wouldn’t say there was any real dislikes with this book, however I found the story slower than the first. I did find I skipped a few lines here and there (oops don’t tell me off). However I can tell that Josie is trying not to rush, she wants us to enjoy the story and get to know these characters, as well as dipping into the other characters surrounding them. On the other hand, everything sped up in the last 75%.
I have always loved Josie’s stories this year. My love for these characters kicked off with Emmy and Sol in the Solis Invicti series which I read earlier this year. Then the release of the Sovereign series drew me back into reading when I was in a funk. I do prefer the first book in this series compared to this one, only because I felt the pace was a lot slower and there was more action once we reached 80%. I am excited to read the next instalment. This series is suitable for younger readers, definitely plenty of fantasy, vampire creatures.
I gave this book an overall rating of 4/5 stars. But I hold high hopes for the 3rd book early next year.

Haha reliving my past…… probably shouldn’t let my 4 month old hear it but he loves it. Oops.
Clayne had his check up with his Renal consultant for his kidneys. Clayne is growing and developing amazingly and the doctor was impressed. Only concern now is he is developing kidney disease. The future is unknown with how bad his kidneys could get but at the moment we just need to keep checking. He is such a strong little boy, and so happy. Watching him giggle and smile this week just makes me so happy.
Eek I finally received this book last Sunday and read it in a day. It was amazing. But now I must get back to trying to read Torment……. Lost enthusiasm.
I found this post on Kathy’s blog – Kathy @ Book munches, and wanted to share it with you all. I loved the idea a lot.
I have never done this challenge before, and have a huge list of TBR building up of books I want to read. So now it is time to read some sequels….. and there are a few new books coming soon I am very excited about.

Important It isn’t necessary to dedicate the whole month to my monthly challenges.
Our TBR’s are all through the roof so it can already be a challenge to read only one or two books that fit this month’s challenge. You can still join then! The more the merrier!
Remember, it doesn’t matter how much you read. As long as you have fun reading. And as long as we can tackle our TBR’s, bit by bit.
Are you joining me? Are there any other challenges you’re participating in?
How many books do you own which you haven’t read yet?
When notorious PI Maddie Maxwell is hired to track down “the most boring woman in the world,” she doesn’t expect to find instead her own bad-boy ex, a string of dead bodies spanning a decade, and a neglected little girl who might change her life forever.
The challenging case of the missing Jane Blake leads Max through a maze of Catholic mysticism, crazy family dynamics, and some huge personal ups and downs. Has her ex really mended his ways, or is his supposed reform just another act? Did Jane really have visions of the Virgin Mary? And what’s the story with the mysterious little Claire, who’s taken a vow of silence until Jane returns?
Narrated in Max’s blunt, unfiltered voice, “Ball & Chain” takes the reader through a whirlwind mystery full of faith, despair, love, hate, and — ultimately — hope.
Hired to track down a missing woman, newbie PI Max finds her own bad-boy ex, a string of corpses spanning a decade, and a fierce little girl who steals her heart.
