Jackal’s Pride – Release Tour

Title: Jackal’s Pride
Series: Seven Deadly Series: Book Two
Author: Michelle Gross
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: December 31, 2018
Despite a near catastrophe, there’s time for a fateful encounter.
Maureen Reaper, eldest daughter of the revered Grim Reaper, avoided an apocalyptic vortex which threatened humanity, but she still has time for bets. She can’t help it thanks to her curse—the sin of pride. Her latest one brings her face-to-face with an entity no one has seen or heard from for thousands of years.
Jackal, an entity created by the Devil himself, has never known the comprehension of emotions until the day a witch cursed him to feel for everything he has killed. Unable to bear the new burden of a heavy heart, he sleeps with no intention of ever waking until someone finds him.
There’s nothing beautiful in their meeting. Enemies by birth, only more so when Maureen straps a collar around his neck all for a bet. She awakens a beast whose every first—every new glare, new craving, and touch has landed upon her.
Then she learns that the one she sought out in a game controlled by pride could be the very one that helps turn the tide back in the Reapers’ favor.
But that’s the thing…
Pride is a bitch, and Maureen is her.
Beckie Bookworm – “This one gets a sure hell yeah from my camp” Goodreads Review – “I fell into the story and didn’t want to come up. I hope, I pray, that Gross gives us book three soon because I need more NOW.” BookedMercy – “I was genuinely blow away by this book. It’s hard to find a good paranormal book so I was pleasantly surprised when reading this gem.”
Michelle is from a small town in Eastern Kentucky where opossums try to blend in with the cats on the porch and bears are likely to chase your pets—this is very true, it happened with her sister’s dog. Despite the extra needed protection for your pets, she loves the mountains she calls home. She has a man and twin girls who are the light of her life and the reason she’s slightly crazy.
As a kid, she was that cousin, that friend, that sister and daughter, the talker who could spin a tale and make-believe into any little thing so it was no surprise when she found love in reading, and figured all these characters inside her head needed an outlet. They wanted to be heard, so she wrote.
The voices keep growing faster than she gets the time to write.
The stories are never going to end. That’s perfectly okay, though. We never want to stop an adventure.
She writes and loves many different genres so sign up to her mailing list to keep updated on her releases!

Left to chance: a book review.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? As Eliza sits miserably sipping her glass of champagne at her best friend’s wedding, she can’t help but notice that Gabe, her sworn enemy is also in attendance. Eliza looks to liquor to cure her disdain. Once inebriated, her inhibitions become lacking and she finds herself in Gabe’s arms. A dance leads to a kiss and a kiss leads Eliza being whisked away to Las Vegas where she wakes up the next morning with a bad taste in her mouth and a sparkling gem on her finger. “What the hell have I done?”
Gabe Ellingsworth is the quintessential wealthy playboy. His bed is like a revolving door and his taste for all things luxurious are plastered on the front of every gossip magazine in the country. But Gabe finds himself becoming enticed by a certain smart mouthed red head at his best friend’s wedding. What’s a guy to do? Gabe decides to provoke Eliza further by flying her to Vegas on his private jet and tying the knot.
Caught up in a frenzy of family, friends and media, Gabe and Eliza try to make the best of a dreadful situation. They work together to fool everyone and soon secrets emerge that have them both on edge. Will Gabe’s philandering ways thrust Eliza further into madness? Or will they both realize that they need each other more than they ever knew.
Book two in the Chances Are Series will take you on an emotional journey and leave you wondering if things are better when they are just left to chance.

Where do I start, this book is absolutely fantastic, I started reading last night stayed up till 1 am and then finished it this morning, I was hooked.   I was approached by C.D Taylor’s manager who asked whether I would like to review this book and spread the word.  This is an erotic book and it is jam packed full of twists, turns, plots and a relationship which is up and down more times than a yo yo.

The two characters Gabe and Eliza hate each other with a passion,  but when they marry in Vegas for some drunken fun. They are then forced to produce a lie until they can get an annulment.
Throughout the whole book their hatred for each other is strong,  they are always frustrating one another and keeping secrets, however these secrets begin to surface, which change their relationship from hatred to complicated, but they begin to find some solace in each others arms.

Eliza is a strong woman who has been independent ever since she arrived in New York, and works as a secretary for Gabe’s best friend. she is secretive woman and when ever a relationship gets serious she is the first person to back out. Her temper definitely matches her hair colour, Gabe describes talking to her like “talking to a brick wall”.  Eliza’s relationship to Gabe becomes a love hate relationship, as her sexual urges take over and she keeps begging Gabe for more.
Gabe is a player, a sexy, rich man who knows what to do when it comes to dominance, but he has secrets not just in the bedroom but with alcohol, as well as a complicated relationship with his parents which threaten not only his career but Eliza’s whole life.

They both continue to torture each other with hateful remarks and sexual desires for about a month and a half. The story line was perfect, not the typical romance novel, I loved watching the characters grow, while they discover more and more about each other in ways that no one has before.  I just wish this book didn’t finish as fast as it did, with all the twists and turns as well as drama, I feel it could have carried on into a second book, I just wish I could have carried on reading the story of these two and what was in store for them next especially regarding Gabe’s family with the new circumstances, which you will have to read to understand.
This book is amazing the erotic scenes could not have been done better, the love hate relationship was perfect and the loss that these characters share are perfect to bring them closer together.  I definitely recommend this to you all to read, there is just too much to write about when it comes to Left to chance.

About the author.

C.D. Taylor began writing as an item to check off her bucket list. She resides in the southernmost part of Illinois, right on the mighty Mississippi river. She enjoys the quiet country life with her husband, son and the many farm animals that make up the rest of the family. C.D. decided that farm life was just a little too mundane, so she started writing erotica to spice things up, so far so good. C.D. entered cosmetology school right out of High School and practiced the art of hair styling for 12 years. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found sitting around a table making people laugh. She has always wanted to be a standup comic. She loves pulling practical jokes, dresses up in a costume every Halloween and believes that dancing is the key to a happy life (even if you aren’t a good dancer). She believes that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously, we will never get out alive anyway. More than anything, C.D. is a kid at heart, she doesn’t believe in bedtimes, eating everything on her plate, or having ice cream only for dessert. Her favorite quote is by Dr. Seuss…”Why fit in, when you were born to stand out.”

To find out more about Gabe and Eliza’s life READ THE BOOK! It is definitely a must read.
