The coverage this product states to give is real.  The only problem with my sample is that it doesn’t remove as much product from the wand like the full sized product does.  I think that this is a design problem with the sample, making it cheaper.  This just means I need to scrape off the product from the wand to make sure my eye lashes are not too thick.
But wow overall my eyelashes are voluminous, well coated, and my eyelashes have never looked clumpy.
A little goes a long way, I have put on this mascara everyday since March and I have loads of product left 🙂 which is awesome.
I will definitely be spending my pennies and buying the full sized product when this one runs out.

Old makeup clear out.

Hello all my beauty lovers,  I am bringing back my makeup reviews, hauls and used products.  Tried and tested.
I always buy a mixture of high end and drug store, and now I feel I am getting used to the sort of formulas I like I feel I am more than ready to show you my tips, tricks and all time favourite products.

old makeup

Today I had a good look in my makeup drawer and thought, I do not use half of this makeup and it’s taking up so much room.   Today was the day to remove the makeup I have tried and disliked or just not used for a LONG time.

All the products in the picture above have probably been in my drawer for as long as 1-4 years (hides face in shame).  I know I know 4 years is a bloody long time to not use it all.

I am trying to teach myself to use eye shadow more and create some new eye looks.  This is a huge lesson for me, I am no way going to start looking like those beauty gurus on Youtube in a LONG time.  Hence why a lot of the above makeup is eye shadow palettes.

Products removed:

Smashbox palette with 30 eye shadows, 3 blush and 1 contour shade- lovely palette, amazing.  I just never used the bold colours and then never used the palette.  Have had this for 4 years.

Smashbox smokebox  6 shades- too dark for me. I used to use the black shadow a lot more for liner.

Estée Lauder blush palette- too dark for my complexion now.

W7 neutral eye palette- not used.

Urban decay setting powder-  too orange for me now.

Smashbox contour- too orange for my skin tone, but a fantastic contour shade that lasted me for EVER.

Benefit – double brow.  Just not easy for me to use, I am a beginner with drawing on brows.

Rimmel BB cream- did not like the formula

Maybelline velvet- Again did not like the formula and tried multiple times.

Milani blush-  not very pigmented so ended up not using it.

Mascaras- out of date

NYX matte lip- felt very dry and used to feel crusty on my lips EWWW.

Rimmel lasting 25 hour powder foundation- only bought on holiday as waterproof and had sun protection but again not easy to use.

Collection, concealer-  not my type of formula and just pulled at my skin.

GALifornia by Benefit : Blush

galifornia-hero

£24.50

Benefit’s NEW GALifornia golden pink blusher is part sun, pure fun! It blends bright pink with shimmering gold, capturing the warm glow of California sunshine in a box. The signature GALifornia Dreamin’ scent features notes of pink grapefruit & vanilla. Comes complete with a custom rounded blush brush for soft, diffused application.

  • Golden pink powder blush
  • Artwork inspired by vintage California surfer girls
  • Includes rounded blush brush and mirror  (Benefit website)

Okay I am in LOVE with this blush.  I went to Benefit on my birthday just to try out some of their brow products as they are well known for them, and everyone I watch on YouTube raves about their brows, so I thought lets give them a go.

The girl there was lovely, she offered to do my whole face with their best products as 1. It was my birthday and 2.  I own nothing by Benefit.   This blush Galifornia was gorgeous when she applied it, their is some gold shimmer to the blush which gave my cheeks a lovely subtle glow, and I have had nothing but compliments since wearing it at work.
The formula is very pigmented, but I cannot get enough and sometimes go over board, OOPS.

The packaging is so attractive and will definitely catch your eye, as well as the internal product, SOO PRETTY.  I am so glad I paid the extra money for this product because it was well worth it, I have even stopped using my Milani baked blush since using GALifornia, just because I have become addicted.
I am well aware it is a pricey product, but I can reassure you it is definitely worth the price, it lasts a long time, and the colour payout is amazing. The blush does come with a brush which I do not tend to use but do keep as they are a good size for travelling as they fit inside the product, I use my real techniques blush brush to apply my blush.

Over all I give this product a 5 star rating, I am blown over with the quality.

L’Oreal True match foundation: Before and After

Hello all, and welcome back to my blog.
Before we get started don’t forget to press that follow/subscribe button to keep up to date with all books/beauty related posts.

As a lot of you liked my before and after post of the Smashbox Pore minimizing primer I thought I would do the same for the L’Oreal True match foundation.
A link to the primer post : Smashbox pore Minimizing primer
Lets get started shall we:

Please remember that I had to use the flash to take both these pictures, this made my foundation look a lot paler than normal, my shade is rose Ivory.

I don’t really need to explain much here, the pictures show the amount of coverage, and this was with just 2 pumps.  It covered my redness and spots perfectly, that’s hard to do.  For those of you who haven’t read my previous posts: my skin can be oily, but most of the time I have a lot of breakouts and dry skin over.  This makes it hard for me when buying foundations because, in the past I have found, even some high end foundations have sunk in around my spots, making them more obvious when I would have been better to not where makeup at all.

I first used my primer from Smashbox as a base, and then applied the true match foundation with a real techniques base complexion sponge.  There is no concealer used.

I have been loving the results of this foundation the last couple months, and the coverage has been amazing.  The best part is, this foundation only cost £9.99 from Boots.
I would however recommend that this foundation be applied using a sponge, as I find brushes sometimes left streaks.  I don’t know if anyone else has found this?

The new vision of skin matching technology. With the finest pigments, invisible to the naked eye and a creamy ultra-gliding texture for a unique silky touch. Giving you a natural finish. The new technology captures the undertones from warm, neutral to cool. (Loreal)

I used to use the old true match foundation and hated it.  But this new version has a more liquid consistency, which I have found to make the foundation easier to blend.
I will definitely be repurchasing this in the future.
