Genre: SciFi & Fantasy.  Teens & YA

Six months ago, Hunter’s life turned upside-down. Seeker is dead, a tragedy that’s left Hunter empty and alone. Talon, an agency of super humans, now looks to her for leadership. When several agents are found dead with mysterious injuries, she has no choice but to track down the killer herself or risk the lives of her teammates and friends.

Hunter finds herself in Arizona, where things turn deadly, sending her right into the hands of the one person that could take everything from her—her mother.

Forced to do Mother’s bidding, Hunter does the only thing she can … she survives. One grueling day at a time. Will Hunter become the next victim of the killer who has taken so many of her friends’ lives? Will she become the murderous telepath Mother wants her to be? Or will she somehow find a way out of this deadly situation full of so many risks…

I recieved an ARC copy of this book by Netgalley to review.

This is the second book in the series.  First thing is, I have never read the first book and I don’t think I will, this story was easy to follow and I picked up what happened to Hunter/Sasha quickly.  The flashbacks were minimal and did not take up too much of the storyline.  Always a bonus, some books just drag, no time for that.

Shasha is only 17 but throughout the book I liked how she was portrayed as a mature young adult, after all she is a telepath, not  something all teenagers posses, I’m jealous really, if only my life was so exciting.

She is a leader and a loyal friend, after losing Seeker/Jesse, Hunter is not prepared to lose anyone else, after all they are family.  When two of her friends are harmed and one passes away, she is ready to seek revenge and protect the rest of her kind, from a new serum meant to enhance abilities.

Sasha faces her biggest trial yet, kidnapped by a man called Hawk a “normal” and then taken to the Compound to face her mother Katherine Harper.  Not the loving supportive mother we probably have.

Katherine wants to use Hunters skills for her own use, to wipe out the rest of the telepaths, and form her own enhanced versions, using the X serum, by making an army.  I did like that Hunters teenage Moody side came out when she was interacting with her mum, after all, what teenager really wants to listen to what their mum has to say, she definitely doesn’t follow the rules.  And I like that ( good on her).

My overall view of this book is that I really enjoyed it.  It is aimed at teens and young adults, so there is very minimal romance ( I miss this in books- probably due to the intimate and relationship development but this is a teenage book) ,there is a little more action, and a lot more friendship.  It is a very good read though if you want something light hearted.

If you are in your 20’s like me though maybe it isn’t for you, like I said I now read books with more romance, sexual tension and more depth, so this was very light reading for me, but still pleasant.

I am actually interested in reading the next book, it did finish on a cliffhanger, sort of feel the book didn’t have a lot happening.  Was like a tv series where one particular event is explained but you have to stay tuned to see what happens next.

Always addicted to books that lead into a series.

Fallen By Lauren Kate: A Book Review

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

Get ready to fall . . .

Hello all and welcome back to my blog, please do not forget to follow my blog and Facebook page to keep up to date with all my posts.

Today I bring you Fallen by Lauren Kate, a “sexy, fascinating and scary” book.  This was a book recommended to me by someone at work who knew I loved a fantasy book which had a romantic twist.  Basically a young adult book.  These have been my favourite Genre’s since I was little, and I have read many from the collection to sort of know what to expect.

First of all this book is about a young girl called Lucinda Falls who is a 17 year old girl who has been sent to a control school for either committing or not committing a crime that killed a boy she kissed.  This school is known as the Sword and Cross which houses about 80 children/young adults.  On her first day there are the typical first day school nerves, nicknames, bullies and friendships.  The one person however that stands out from the rest is Daniel.  Daniel pays attention to Lucinda “Luce” from afar and always keeps his distance.  Since meeting Daniel Luce starts to have flashbacks and weird dreams which feel very realistic, and confusing, she has this feeling that she knows Daniel from somewhere.
After a couple days and tours of the grounds she is nearly crushed by a headstone in the schools graveyard, however who was there at the time and seemed to save her?….. Daniel.
Luce can’t understand how Daniel saved her, and why she is pulled to him, however she is also attracting the attention from another school boy Cam.
But who will she choose?

My favourite character in this book overall would be Penn.  She is a sweet innocent girl who becomes friends with Luce by knowing how to get to student files, and the main school files, because of her dad and his position at the Sword and Cross.
The reason Penn became my favourite character was because she seems the most realistic, as realistic as a fantasy book can be.  She was kind, shy, but most of all reminded me of myself, which made me relate to her more.  I think other readers will also like her for the way she is around Luce.

The story kept me guessing quite a lot, because it was very confusing at times with twists and turns.  I wonder if this was purposely put into the book because Luce is a teenager.  Nothing about this new school is normal for her.  Luce was a top grade achiever at her school near her parents, and now she is in a school where the education is questionable and, she has no idea what the other people at her school have done to become young offenders.

My favourite part about the book was 53% of the way through , at this point Daniel and Luce are talking about her secrets,  and Cam is showing a larger interest in her, which is causing tension with Daniel.  These were the best chapters as they became tense and mysterious.
However this happened only halfway through the book, before this section I was struggling to keep reading as I felt the story wasn’t progressing.  After about page 240 the story began to pick up and become really interesting, I was hooked and didn’t stop reading it for two nights.

Overall I liked the book by the end and I do want to buy the second in the series.  The ending was fast, tense and full of suspense, and was left leading onto the next book , by leaving you wanting more.  The story had only just begun.
The only big downside to this book was I felt the beginning was very slow.  I struggled to give the book my full attention and kept putting it down over a space of a month, I found the start very repetitive and nothing was happening.   When I read a few more reviews where people said the story picks up in the middle, and becomes interesting, I wasn’t interested. However after the reviews I knew I needed to sit down and really try to keep reading on, and I am glad I did.

Overall I would give this first book a 3 1/2 out of 5, only due to the beginning which didn’t pull me in, but the ending was great and it left me wanting to read more.

Milani baked blush

Recently I bought a few new makeup products to try out as I have a wedding to go to soon.  I was looking for a lovely coral/pinky tone to go with my dress so I was having a look through Amazon and came across the Milani brand, which I have heard good things about by YouTube gurus.

This blush is a baked blush and comes in the color Luminoso, the case does seem very large but on further inspection I found there is a hidden mirror and brush compartment hidden under the blush, I haven’t used this yet but I am sure it will come in handy when I travel.

The appearance does look lovely, it is a drug store makeup brand and not a high end product, I only paid £4.49.  Which is an amazing price for the quality.

The powder has a creamy feel and it’s lovely and blendable.  There is a slight shine to it meaning you may not need a highlighter with it.  There is a swatch above and that was with a small amount, so it is very build able as well.

Overall I would recommend this blush to anyone it is gorgeous, I am thinking of buying more in different shades next time, but it is so worth the money, and better than some of the high end blushes I have tried in the past.

Huge thumbs up and 5 stars to this blush xox

Entwined with you: A Crossfire Novel by Sylvia Day

Entwined with you.
Entwined with you.

Hello everyone 🙂 hope you love a good book because this is the one for you!

First I will say that this is an erotic book and is not suggested to younger readers okay :p we do not want to scar them for ever haha.  Anyway this book is absolutely amazing.
I only paid about £1.99 for this book on my Kindle, books are a lot cheaper on there than buying paper backs.  Unfortunately my Kindle is the old kindle WiFi version and does not come in colour which can be a pain however when you read the book it does not need to be in colour, hopefully I can buy a brand new kindle this year we will see.
Below I will show you a small snippet from the first chapter of the book then I will give you some more information.

” Gideon Cross was an impossibly gorgeous man, so beautiful that people stopped and stared when he walked by.  I’d once thought of him as a sex god, and his frequent – and enthusiastic – displays of prowess constantly proved me right, but I also knew he was all too human.  Like me, he’d been broken.  The odds were against our making it.  My chest expanded on a deep breath, my body responding to the proximity of his.  Even though he stood several feet away, I could feel the heady attraction, the magnetic pull of being near the other half of my soul.  It’d been that way with us from the very first meeting. “

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down and would have finished it sooner if life didn’t get in the way lol.
I would recommend this book to you all of course you would have to read the first two books however though 🙂 but it is definitely worth the buy.
This book was give 4 and a half stars on Goodreads:

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts, and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires…

From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.

No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession…

Do not forget to follow me and I hope to talk to you all soon
I hope you go and buy the book
and if you do do not forget to tell me how it was for you 🙂

Fifty Shades of Grey book review + spoiler

 Hello my lovelies.

A lot of you have probably already read the Fifty shades of grey trilogy, and LOVED them!

I was recommended to read this book from a friend and I was so glad I did, I never stopped reading them and was definitely hooked.  I read this book over a year ago before it became a top seller.

Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey are the two main characters and meet through work.

All the books involve a lot of S&M and dominatrix which are very descriptive and you can almost picture everything that is happening between the characters.  Anastasia Steele is a virgin who is a little taken back when Christian Grey asks her to be submissive, however throughout these books they do not sign the contract and end up in a relationship, which is a struggle for both Christian and Anastasia as they both learn how to make the relationship work on a more loving and intimate level.

The story between these two in the three books is great and interesting, there is definitely a lot of ups and downs in the relationship. (Don’t take that sentence in the wrong way, for those of you with a dirty mind).

The third book is probably my favourite especially after what happened in the end of the second book….

Seeing their relationship after they get married its gorgeous and so romantic and when she finds out that she is pregnant…… I couldn’t stop reading especially as it made Christian rethink everything that was happening and how he struggled to come to terms with the news.

But my all time favourite was Anastasia showing her love towards his family by protecting his sister and risking her own life and the baby for him.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone reading this. The book includes erotica, love, romance, action and watching Christian develop into a different man who now has meaning.

I am looking forward to the film coming out which is due to be released next year 2014!

Hope you all enjoyed and any questions that you may have feel free to leave them below also and I will answer them in another blog post.

If you like this book I would definitely recommend the Crossfire novels here is a link to a post I wrote on the books:

L’Oreal Magic Touch Instant Blur review.

Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur.
Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product!.

I have heard about this product via Youtube and I believe this product looks a little different in America than here in England, so it may look a little confusing to some of you.

Anyway I thought I would give it a go I believe it cost about £8 I bought this from Wilkinson and thought it was a very good price.

Skin perfection
Skin perfection

The only downside to this product would have to be that it is a very small tube for £8 I wish it was bigger.
Anyway it does not state that it is a primer however it definitely works well as a primer.

The product states:
The advanced formula enriched with Optical Blur Polymers, helps smooth and improve the appearance of skin quality, as if perfected picture-perfect skin from every angle.

I agree with this completely, this if the first primer/cream that actually works as it states on the box.
I find I have very large pores on my nose and chin which I can never seem to hide with any amount of makeup.  I used this product last week for the first time for a 12 hour shift and this cream lasted all day and made my skin feel so smooth and matte I was shocked.

The consistency of this product is very thick but my skin feels so soft and my pores immediately vanish from my face it is amazing, just like editing :p.
I have very oily skin too so for this product to hide my huge pores and keep my skin matte all day I am now officially addicted, and I would definitely say this product is worth buying I know I will be buying this in the future, especially because it is so affordable and I do not have to pay for expensive products such as Benefit or Smashbox.

I hope you liked this 🙂
