Everyday Makeup Products

Makeup as a new mum is a challenge.  To tell you the truth if it was just me, and Craig wasn’t around, I probably would never wear makeup out ( so time consuming, no new mum has time for that :p).
Most days I cuddle my baby boy in pj’s and no makeup, I am a lazy girl at heart, don’t judge me.
So when I finally decide to go out and dress up, I put on the same makeup look, boring I know but it works for me.
Below I have also added links so you can check out previous posts for these products.
Please enjoy and don’t forget to like, comment and follow.  I really appreciate it.

Every day quick makeupMy Makeup consists of from base to finish-

1- Always moisturise (I forgot to add the cream here but I lately using Nivea face and body).

2- L’Oreal True Match Foundation in shade Rose Ivory ( Those of you who have been here a while know this is my holy grail).  For a quick look I do not use concealer, this foundation covers well.

3- Set it all with Airspun translucent powder.   Available on Amazon, great when you’re on a budget as I have not found a better powder for the same price.

4- Bit of contouring with the Kat Von D shade and light palette which is very well loved and I have hit pan…….. in desperate need of a new palette please comment below.  (I am on a budget now though :/).

5- For blush I have been using Benefits Galifornia.   Bought this over a year ago, I use it all the time and I still haven’t hit pan.  It is a gorgeous pink that you can build on.  A little goes a long way.

6-  Highlight, Sleek highlighting palette with 4 shades.  This is another holy grail product I will definitely purchase again it is stunning.  Again i have hit pan on this product.  Can you tell it’s well loved by all the fingerprints :p.

7- Finally the eyes and brows.  Lately I have been using the Benefit BAD gal BANG mascara , a fantastic product.  I received this in my March Birchbox pot a while ago, and definitely intend to buy the full size tube once used.
And for brows I received the Fill and tame brow mascara in brunette, again I got this in my April Birchbox 2018- Cath Kidston special edition.

Two highlighters with 2 very different prices…… Let’s review.

This is only a sample size, the actual size is worth £31.

Sleek highlighter palette purchased off Amazon for only £10, in the shade Solstice.

Review:

The Sleek highlighter palette I have used for well over a year, my favourite shade is Equinox the lovely gold shade.  It is cheap, very pigmented and gives a great colour pay off.
I received the Model Co highlighter from my Birch-box subscription in April.  It is a beautiful shade, more natural, not so shimmery.

I use a fan brush to apply both highlighters. A few brush strokes from the Sleek palette and I have a very pigmented highlight.   Downside to the Model co highlight is that, it takes a lot of dabbing the brush to get any pay off, i often find myself adding more and more to get close to the pay off I get with Sleek.

I like both products, however when I way up the price of them both I think Sleek is worth the money.  I use less product with sleek and it lasts longer, I am also given 4 shades in the palette.
Model Co is lovely but I wouldn’t spend £31 in the future when I have to use more product.  I always reach for my Sleek palette first.

Hello everyone,

I want to share with you all my favourite makeup, music, and candles.  Please enjoy and comment below if you want to know more about these products.  Links will be included if I have already reviewed the product.

Real techniques Powder brush.

I really needed to invest in a better foundation brush as I found regular brushes were causing my makeup to either smudge, especially under my eyes, or I would get patchy/dotty textures under my eyes and on my forehead.  Since using this brush my powders apply flawlessly to my face.  Super soft and easy to clean.

I love love love this palette, a more in depth review will be coming soon.  I have used this palette every day so far with no regrets over the price.  Easy to blend and great for any ski tone.

Real techniques complexion sponge.

I have really enjoyed applying my makeup with this sponge, the different edges have made it easier t apply my foundation, concealer and blend out my highlighter and contour.

Sleek highlighter quad palette

This palette is GORGEOUS, words cannot describe how much I love these shades.  I will admit I do not use the cream highlight, only because I get very oily so I apply a lot of powder, this stops the cream highlight from being blendable. The Pink and golden highlight are my favourites they are gorgeous.

Sleek highlighting palette

Hello everyone, long time no see.

I recently purchased this sleek Highlighting palette.  I have seen this palette everywhere, it’s super affordable and GORGEOUS!   There are a few different types, this one featured is called Solstice.  There are 4 shades, 1 is a cream highlighter and the other 3 are powders.

Top left: cream highlighter, called ecliptic.

Top right: Hemisphere.

Bottom Left: Subsolar.

Bottom Right: Equinox.

The packaging is so eye catching, and looks very high end in my opinion.

I paid a total of £9.99 English pounds.  I bought mine off amazon via Amazon Prime.  Easy buying, and a 5 star review.

Product description: solstice instantly enhances the complexion with a radiant glow, the highly pigmented metallic finishes create a gorgeous luminous sheen on the skin. Solstice can be used on cheekbones, the cuspids bow, the inner corner of the eyes, bridge of the nose and can be swept across the décolletage to create a lit from within glow.

Swatches on my skin.  I have very fair skin.

Left to right: Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar, Equinox.

I have used this product every day for a week now, and I am in love. I have used a brush and my fingers to apply the highlight to my cheeks, bridge of my nose and cuspids bow.  The picture above shows the subtle highlight it gives me.  The shade used above was Equinox.  Equinox is my favourite shade in the palette.  The shades are so pigmented and glide across the skin effortlessly.  I have used the brush included in the palette but I found it very stiff and it did not apply the highlights well, however this is a cheaper palette, so it was to be expected.

The cream highlight was perfect for below my brows to just enhance their shape.   I also feel the cream would look lovely if you do not plan to use any powders on your face.

I definitely recommend this product to everyone, it is well worth the money and it gives my skin a natural glow that I have needed, as sometimes my makeup can look too matte, and I always feel something is missing.   I am definitely going to recommend this palette to friends, and I will be repurchasing it when I have used it.  Beautiful.

5 stars from me.
